Year: Sophomore (Class of 2015)
Prospective Major: Economics/International Relations
Prospective Minor: Modern Languages/East Asian Studies
Hometown: Baguio City, Philippines
Interests: Cooking, taking pictures of, and of course eating food; good coffee and chocolate; sleeping and afternoon naps; traveling; learning new languages; and anything remotely spontaneous!
About Me: Howdy! My name is Kevin Magic (believe or not!) Sunga. A little about myself... I was born in the Philippines, but I grew up in the Bay Area. Vaguely, my academic interests are in developmental economics, finance, and global affairs. On my spare time, I like to cook, watch anime, hang-out with friends, read The Game of Thrones, and endlessly browse the web. Lastly, I have an unwritten and continuously growing Bucket List of adventurous and spontaneous things I want to do before I am old and boring. P.S. I am always looking for partners in crime!
About Me: Nusi is from the suburbs of Minnesota where she spent the entirety of her childhood embracing summer storms and exploring the coniferous wilderness that is her backyard. She enjoys random a cappella singing with friends and late-night, aimless escapades that involve food. As a rising junior this year, she is excited to learn and grow from being a part of AASA. While her major is Asian American Studies, she endeavors to become a traveling physician in the future and make friends with a dog.
Year: Class of 2016
Major: CS or Product Design
Hometown: Garnet Valley, Pennsylvania
About Me: Hi everyone! I'm Lucy and I hail from Garnet Valley, a small town in the suburbs of Philadelphia. I love music, everything from 90s rock to classical to old school R&B. I've been playing the violin since I was six, but I've always wanted to play the piano so I'm starting now, here at Stanford! I also love long runs and eating good food. Yum :) My favorite quote is one by Marilyn Monroe: "Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius, and it's better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring." Those are the words I live by, I'm super excited to be an AASA Frosh Intern, and I can't wait to plan AASA-me (awesome) AASA events!
About Me: Xuyi Guo is from Harrisonburg, Virginia and is a member of the class of 2015 who is double majoring in economics and math. His interests include, but are not limited to, football, soccer, basketball, table tennis, Starcraft II, Dota 2, Super Smash Bros. Melee, food stuff, education, and anime. Some people find his musical tastes to be suprisingly broad, and he will say that he likes a bit of almost everything. However, he is definitely not one of those people who says that he likes everything because that would be a lie. Xuyi does not like most forms of rock, and he despises Nickelback. A lot. When asked about his guilty pleasures, he'll say that they are binging on hi-chews, soft drinks, binge watching anime, girly Asian music, and writing about himself in third person. However, that's so many that it's questionable whether he actually feels guilty about any of them. This is Xuyi's second year as AASA webmaster, and he's excited to improve and help AASA move forward.

About Me: Hey y'all! I'm Ray, and I am currently a frosh intern in AASA. I am from West San Jose and I have grown up around an amazingly Asian community--my high school is statistically 81% Asian. Though I thought I'd come to Stanford to shed my Asian identity, I have come to embrace it at a new level. Being a part of AASA has been a really eye-opening experience and I hope we can bring knowledge and impact to your world and brain! I really enjoy being around people and hearing everyone's story, so hopefully I can meet you and talk to you at some AASA-sponsored events!
Year: Class of 2016

Hometown: Los Angeles, CA
Interests: whales, community organizing, the Lakers & Dodgers, trees, the ocean, lion dancing, Gilmore Girls, music, arguing, olive/forest green, the beach at sunset, being weird, sarcasm, shoes, honeydew, social justice, thrift shopping, cookies, singing on long car rides at night, spearmint gum
About Me: The number of times you can watch Mean Girls? The limit does not exist.
About Me: Hailing from the Ann Arbor, Michigan (where the squirrels are chubbier), I am thrilled to serve as an AASA frosh intern at Stanford (where the weather is truly nicer). I was born and raised in China and couldn't be more proud of my heritage. From blogging about recipes to consuming inhuman amounts of boba, there are few things in life I enjoy more than food, but they include music (specifically Kpop), over-sweetened desserts, squirrel-feeding, and interesting books and magazines. Hope you can make it to AASA's events so we can get to know each other better!
Year: Class of 2016
Major: Political Science
Hometown: Garden Grove, California
Interests: Watching sitcoms and action movies, marathoning dramas, procrastinating, reading gossip blogs, following current events, cooking, eating, napping
About Me: Hello, netizens! I'm a newly inducted frosh intern and I'm thrilled to be a part of such an amazing organization. Growing up in a large Asian-American community and a relatively traditional Vietnamese household, I've found that my environment has really shaped my perspective of the world. I enjoy learning about different cultures and love giving back to my community. Though I may seem reserved at first, I certainly have a mischievous side. Also, I am well-versed in pop culture, celebrity gossip, and Asian music so feel free to have a chat with me over some delicious Asian snacks!
Year: Class of 2016 (Sophomore)
Prospective Major: Economics
Prospective Minor: Computer Science
Interests: I love watching USA Network shows (among many others), baking and cooking #cheapcleaneats, listening to music, and am always down for a boba run :)
About Me: Hi everyone! My name is Jessica and I hail from this place called Troy, Michigan where I get to enjoy all 4 seasons. I enjoy exploring cool places on campus, trying different kinds of food, and most of all, meeting new people! I love learning more about the asian culture and our asian american history, and AASA has definitely helped. AASA last year (this being my second year) was simply amazing and I can't wait to make more memories with some awesome people at these great events. Anyway, feel free to reach out to me for any questions; I'm always down to chill/talk :)
Hometown: Shanghai-born but moved to Saratoga, CA when I was 6

About Me: Hi! I'm Michelle and I am currently a sophomore. This is my first year with AASA and having only gotten into API issues in college, I can't wait to see what I can contribute to Stanford's API community as well as learn and grow from it. My interests pretty much sum up my personality - if you are interested in anything above or even beyond, don't hesitate to start a conversation with me!
Hometown: Seoul, San Diego, Los Angeles
Prospective Major: CSRE with a focus on Intersectionality
Prospective Minor: East Asian Studies
Interests: Learning about new cultures. Inequality. Music and vocal music (singing with Talisman is a huge part of my life). Korean American hipster bands. Asian American hipsteriness in general (what's that all about?). Aesthetics of beardedness. Hair.
About Me: Hello! I'm Hye Jeong, a junior/senior majoring in CSRE focusing on intersectionality (which aims to study the intersections of identity found between gender, sexuality, race, class, etc.) and I basically love to meet all kinds of new people and learn as much as I can about them, even though I'm lazy and shy and awkward. I love to sing and jam with good friends as well as sleeping either in the sun or in my little she-cave under the bed. I also enjoy hiking, camping, hoarding fruits and vegetables from the dining halls, drowning food in hot sauce (it's a lifestyle), going to concerts (dubstep and indie folk yo), and going to church!
