Justin Lam

Justin Lam

About Me: Justin is a rising senior hailing from the caves of Canada (have you heard of the little village of Toronto?). Braving blizzards and polar bear attacks, he made his way to sunny California for college. He is an art history major concentrating in Japanese art out of interest and an education minor passionate about the myth of meritocracy and education's role in systematic reproduction of structural inequality. Justin is also an aspiring doctor and hopes to attend medical school following graduation. He is sad that this is his last year at Stanford, but is sure that it will be the best one yet!

About Me: Hailing from the Ann Arbor, Michigan (where the squirrels are chubbier), I am thrilled to serve as an AASA frosh intern at Stanford (where the weather is truly nicer). I was born and raised in China and couldn't be more proud of my heritage. From blogging about recipes to consuming inhuman amounts of boba, there are few things in life I enjoy more than food, but they include music (specifically Kpop), over-sweetened desserts, squirrel-feeding, and interesting books and magazines. Hope you can make it to AASA's events so we can get to know each other better!

I enjoy learning about different cultures and love giving back to my community. Though I may seem reserved at first, I certainly have a mischievous side. Also, I am well-versed in pop culture, celebrity gossip, and Asian music so feel free to have a chat with me over some delicious Asian snacks!

Yum :) My favorite quote is one by Marilyn Monroe: "Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius, and it's better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring."
